NATURE STORIES | winter

Almost the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring. It is an exciting time of year to be outdoors and the perfect time to spot some migrating birds that have come here over Winter. Bird migration is one of the most extraordinary phenomenon in nature and with the trees stripped of their leaves, now is the perfect time to try and see some of these seasonal visitors. Bird watching is a great way to strengthen your relationship with nature.

For me it has led to a curiosity for trees. I love walking in the woods, experiencing all of the sounds and watching the changes in the trees throughout the seasons.

We have always lived alongside trees but we are still making new discoveries about them, such as how they communicate with one another through an underground ‘woodwide web’. I recommend the book ‘The Hidden Life of Trees’ by Peter Wohlleben who shares his love of woods and forests and explains the amazing processes of life, death, and regeneration he has observed in the woodland.

Two new prints have just been added to the website inspired by two of our majestic trees, the Oak and the Ash. These are the first prints in what will be a growing collection of native tree prints. Each one has been hand-painted in gouache, professionally printed in Belfast using the highest quality archival art paper and inks to produce a print that can be treasured for a lifetime.

All packaging is now fully compostable too!
